Guidelines for Publications
The development of publications is a key feature of the CETT for Inclusive Learning (CETTIL) programme. The following are the aims of this part of the CETTIL action plan:
- To provide support to participants in producing materials for publication.
- To share examples of good practice and to foster innovation and creative ideas in inclusive provision.
- To create a resource for participants in developing inclusive policy and practice.
- To disseminate the work of CETTIL to a wider audience.
- The aims will be realised through the CETTIL website www.cettil.org.uk
Guidelines:
- The overall principle is inclusion in terms of authors, types of material, production of materials and audience.
- The type of material for publication will be as broad as possible and include: the work of learners, curriculum documents, art work, video clips, academic papers and policy statements.
- Accessibility to as large and varied an audience as possible is crucial to the principle of inclusion, including the use of accessible language.
- Support will be provided as appropriate to anyone interested in developing materials for publication.
- All submitted material will be supported and considered for publication.
- The inclusion of learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in both producing material for publication and accessing publications is fundamental to the action plan. This is to be encouraged, facilitated and supported.
- Our language policy is that we will never knowingly publish materials which contain offensive or disabling language.
